September 27th, 2012 by Cristina Moe Salanova

The Code for America Summit is happening October 1st-3rd in San Francisco at the Mission Bay Conference Center, a rare and unique opportunity to gather over 200 leaders and innovators in civic technology.

The event will represent over 20 cities and include staff, officials and thought leaders that share a vision of local government and civic foundations as a platform for innovation.

With a participatory atmosphere and mix of interactive sessions designed to solicit contributions from all attendees, this is no ordinary conference.

The summit has also invited a wide spectrum of speakers from government officials, technologists, civic leaders, and philanthropists including San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, Ron Conway and Tim O’Reilly to share their experiences and opinions.

Tropo will be hosting the first ever CfA Ignite during the Summit on Monday night October 1st from 8:30pm-10pm at the CfA Headquarters.  Ignite consists of 8-10 talks, 5 mins each with a max of 20 slides on all the hot topics along with food, drinks and a legendary piano performance from our own Johnny Diggz!  The CfA Summit is by invitation only and sold out but for those of you going swing on by the piano and share a drink and a tune with the Tropo team!
