Hi, I’m Willow Brugh (aka willowbl00), and I have the honor of telling you about Geeks Without Bounds and response, specifically to Hurricane Sandy. What’s Geeks Without Bounds, you ask? GWOB links together hacker, maker, and developer communities to humanitarian organizations to make good ideas field ready. We participate heavily in other people’s hackathons (like Random Hacks of Kindness and SpaceApps), and provide 6 months of mentorship to teams and projects (some of which come out of those hackathons).
